Hey ya’ll I have thick, layered, brunette hair, that is a little bit wavy, but not much. The longest layer is about 13 inches long, which is a little bit below my shoulder, and my shortest layer, besides my side-swept bangs is about 8 inches long or so. I was wanting some updos to do to my hair for school. Thanks in advance, and feel free to ask more questions, and I’ll try to answer them. Thanks again!

I have long hair (like halfway down my back) that has a little bit of natural wave to it, and it’s a dark reddish brown colour. I love making it wavy (wavier than it naturally is) and straightening it, and putting it up.
I need some new ideas for hair styles. Anything: updos, leaving it down, etc.
Preferably nothing to “cute” because that really doesn’t suit my style, I prefer to have a bit of edge to my hair. I like to range from edgy to elegant (bit of a stretch, I know).
Oh yes, and I have longish sidebangs that fall to the left side of my face.

Having my boyfriend’s long hair done in a pretty style: Suggestions?

My boyfriend has long, thick, honey blonde hair about 4 inches below his shoulders. I love playing with it and styling it. He’s a really good sport about it and lets me do pretty much what I want–braids, curls, pigtails, updos. I think he secretly likes it, even though he complains and won’t wear anything more interesting than a French braid in public!

Anyway, the situation is, even though his hair is long and healthy, it would look so much prettier if it were cut in a nice style. He’s agreed to let me choose a style under the condition that it can pass as normal guy hair in a ponytail. My stylist (and friend) has even said that she’ll come over and do his hair at my apartment so he doesn’t have to go to the salon. So now I’m trying to decide on a style. I really want something with lots of pretty layers, but I’m worried it will end up being too girly for him.

Anyone out there have any suggestions of really nice pretty styles–preferably layered–that would work?

Is mid-back length hair too long for a 26-year-old?

I cut my hair above my shoulders last Feb, and have been growing it out since. It’s about an inch past my shoulders now, and I plan on growing it to mid-back length. However, I know it’s almost customary in our society to cut our hair once we reach a certain age. I don’t look good in short styles, but how long is too long? I’m always told I look younger than my age, and am short (5′2) and slim and don’t want my hair to overpower me. It already has some light layering in it but I don’t want to add more as I like having flexibility with updos.

I have very long hair, down to my waist, and my college is having a dance tonight. It’s semi-formal, so I can’t see paying the expense of having it done professionally.

Any suggestions for updos I can do myself? (And I’m pretty good doing my own hair, so these don’t necessarily need to be simple.)

My hair is straight, by the way, and I have bangs.

i have very long hair but i cannot help but wake up to tangles in the morning even after putting it up in a ponytail. Are there any simple hair updos i can do that can keep my hair in place, so that i can wake up tangle free or something close to that?

i know i can plait it but i don’t really like wavy hair, is there any other way?

I want to try mixing salt with water then spray it on, people say it’s a good idea. I’m growing my hair long, but it’s only mid-length at the moment. Can anyone give me some websites which teaches you how to do beach looking, very messy updos?!
